CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) NEWS
INTRODUCING THE NEW COVID Pod™ – Saliva Collection Kit
The Super•SAL™ Saliva Collection device works by collection of saliva from the pool of saliva that collects in the mouth by means of a highly absorbent cylindrical-shaped pad. The Super•SAL™ is intended as a high volume saliva collector providing a “clean” saliva specimen in approximately 1-3 minutes.
COVID-19 TESTING WITH VERDOSOME
Verdosome provides saliva-based testing for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. We use a collection process we refer to as the COVID Pod, which stands for COllection Via Intra-oral Device.

CDC-Compliant
Our program maintains CDC guidance regarding social distancing.

PPE Savings
There is no PPE required in the collection process.

Home-Based
There is no need for patients to visit collection sites; the COVID Pod is designed for home collection.

Assistance-Free
Trained personnel are not needed to collect specimens.

No Discomfort
The COVID Pod uses a patient-friendly sublingual absorbent roll in place of uncomfortable nasal swabs.

Resource Efficient
We use common reagents, reducing the risk of supply shortages.

Precise Results
By analyzing with a mass spectrometer, we generate a low error rate, particularly when compared to many of the more commonly used qPCR tests.

Affordable
Medicare-covered patients have no out-of-pocket costs, and our testing is priced at Medicare rates. Non-insured patients may also qualify for no-cost testing through the CARES Act.

High Throughput
Our manufacturer has identified that our analytical instrument can process as many as 2,000 specimens per day.

A BROAD SPECTRUM OF TESTING
PROGRAMS BUILT AROUND YOUR NEEDS
Addressing mental health issues is more important now than ever, particularly for those of us struggling with the isolation, fear, relationship challenges and financial stressors that characterize our current environment. Using the same saliva specimen submitted for COVID-19 testing, Verdosome can perform a one-time mental health genetics analysis. Our panel identifies a number of genes that may play a role in an individual’s stress response, decision making abilities and susceptibility to mental health issues. These include a patient’s predisposition towards depression, addiction and anxiety disorders. While genetics are only one factor that may influence the development of these conditions, understanding their potential contribution to a patient’s overall well-being may help prompt proactive health choices and behavioral modifications that could contribute to improved outcomes.
Our staff will partner with human resources and other relevant departments to develop a testing regimen that suits your workplace’s unique needs. This may include daily, weekly or monthly testing, spot testing of symptomatic or virus-exposed employees, collection support, courier services, report interpretation and more.
